		<description>People, like water, generally follow the path of least resistance.  In most practices, the only thing staff feel empowered to do, is to do as they're told.

Autocracy has been embedded in the profession (and business in general), justified by the hope that one day you will be at the top of the ladder.  

While I do not advocate pure democracy as it results in mob rule, I think modified democracy with proper channels of feedback is an excellent development.

I think this is another area that results in high turnover.  Due to the fact that most professionals feel that they are being controlled by their firm, they leave the firm to take control of their career.</description>
