Practice management in the accounting profession is based on universally accepted business practices and principles proposed as long as 100 years ago. There has been little innovation and virtually no change in the application of those principles in that time, and more particularly in the last 50 years.
In the past 25 years there has been an ongoing evolution with respect to the needs and demands of our clients and potential clients. Equally if not more important is the change in needs, expectations and demands of the associates entering the accounting profession.
As a profession if we are to maintain and leverage our position of importance in the global economy we must evolve as well to meet the needs of our clients and associates. This evolution can only be accomplished through innovation derived from the knowledge and experience of collective minds.
Our purpose is to provide a forum where practice management theory and experience can be shared and discussed with the ultimate goal of improving our profession.
